Happiness is watching movie with your closest friend

I just have two best friends. Of which, I haven’t been to a movie with one of them (H). Either of us were busy, or broke, or our choice of movies were different, or one of us already watched the good movie with someone else. We have been friends for 3 years now. Yet, we have watched no movie together.

To top this, it has been a while since either of us watched a movie in theatre due to exams. And so, this day, was a dream come true.

After days & weeks & months of planning, H & I decided to go for a movie on Friday. However, on Thursday, the 2 of us happened to be free and on the spur of the moment decided to go for it that very day.

With AR Rahman’s magic potion, Maniratnam’s well chosen ingredients, Dulquer Salman & Nitya menon’s charm and Prakash Raj’s mere presence definitely won my heart. I would say that the story’s success was mainly due to ‘Ganapathy uncle & Bhavani aunty’ and their story weaved in well with Dulquer-Nitya duo’s romance. The musical references too gave a sort of surrealism to it.

Ooh! Did I mention Dulquer’s sexy voice? “Kanmanii” 😛

Even though there are quite a few emotions at play, overall it is a happy movie. Movies always don’t have to be neck deep in romance, cut-throat drama, 10 paisa jokes or ear splitting action. If you want something very very intense, and cannot accept something sweet & simple, stay away from this. 🙂

After the Happy movie, there were two Happy Day’s bonuses: First, I did not get a migraine after the movie (usually I do). It might be because there weren’t any loud sounds, fights or gunshots. Anyhow, it was a great relief. Secondly, H realized that our movie on Friday wouldn’t have worked due to some new developments. So, our sudden decision did so much good. That made me happy twice! 😀

Have you experienced these kind of troubles to go for a movie (or an outing) with a friend or am I the only one?
